Our approach

Our Approach

Every property tells a story, and every person deserves to be treated with dignity, respect and understanding.

Compassionate, Person-Centred Support

Compassionate, Person-Centred Support

At Clarity Site Services, we understand that inviting someone into your home can feel overwhelming, especially when you're living with hoarding behaviours. That's why we work with compassion, respect and without judgement.

We never pressure clients or remove belongings without consent. Instead, we build trust and work alongside each person at a pace that feels safe and manageable.

We recognise that every item can have personal meaning, and that decluttering is often an emotional process. Our calm, patient approach helps clients feel listened to, respected and in control, creating lasting progress through trust and collaboration.

Consent

Your Home, Your Decisions

Wherever possible, no belongings will be removed without the tenant's permission.

Our role is to support and guide, not to take control. We encourage informed decisions, allowing tenants to remain involved throughout the process and helping them regain confidence in making choices about their own home.

Protection

Protecting What Matters Most

Throughout every visit, we remain vigilant for items that may be valuable, essential or irreplaceable.

Items such as the following are carefully identified and put to one side before any disposal decisions are made:

  • Cash and bank cards
  • Passports and driving licences
  • Legal and financial documents
  • Medication
  • Family photographs
  • Jewellery
  • Sentimental keepsakes
  • Valuable personal possessions

Protecting what matters most is a fundamental part of the way we work.

No judgement

We Never Judge

Hoarding is a complex condition and every person's circumstances are different.

We don't see clutter — we see people.

Every client is treated with kindness, empathy and respect. Our aim is to create an environment where people feel comfortable enough to engage with the process, rather than fearful of it.

Sustainable progress

Progress Over Pressure

Our goal isn't simply to empty a property.

We focus on creating meaningful, sustainable progress that the tenant feels comfortable with. Taking time to make thoughtful decisions often leads to better long-term outcomes than rushing to clear a home in a single visit.

Some clients benefit from intensive support over consecutive days, while others achieve better results through shorter, regular sessions. We tailor our approach to the individual wherever possible.

Safety

Recognising the Risks

Hoarded environments can present significant health and safety concerns. As part of every project, we remain alert to risks such as:

  • Blocked fire escape routes and increased fire loading.
  • Trip hazards and unstable stacks of belongings.
  • Overloaded electrical sockets and damaged electrical cables.
  • Mould, damp and poor indoor air quality.
  • Pest infestations and biohazards, including animal waste and spoiled food.
  • Restricted access to kitchens, bathrooms and essential living areas.
  • Limited access for emergency services or essential maintenance.
  • Hidden sharp objects or hazardous materials concealed within clutter.

Our aim is to reduce these risks sensitively and collaboratively, always involving the tenant wherever possible. By balancing safety with compassion, we help create homes that are both safer and better suited to long-term, sustainable change.

More than decluttering

More Than Decluttering

Many companies measure success by how much they remove.

We measure success by the progress made with the person behind the property.

That's the Clarity approach.
